India gets 200-run lead against England AFP

After putting England’s five wickets down at the end of second day’s play, Indian bowlers were expected to bowl out English side soon but totally opposite happened on Day Three. England resumed their batting on Day 3 of the match at their score of 103 for five with Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes at the crease. Both went on adding 87 runs more to their partnership before Bairstow’s wicket fell. Bairstow scored his another Test fifty and further, Stokes too ended up scoring half-century. The first wicket of the day was taken by pacer Umesh Yadav of Bairstow at 53. From there on, Stokes along with his new partner Adil Rashid collected 35 runs together before the former got out for 70. From there on, Indian bowlers again tightened their grip on the match but Rashid kept on dealing in boundaries from the other end. Rashid scored unbeaten 32 runs, which included six fours. In the end, England were finally bowled out for 255 and gave the crucial lead of 200 runs to India. Ashwin scalped his 22nd 5-wicket haul in Test and 6th in 2016. Ravindra Jadeja and Umesh got one wicket each. Throughout the England’s innings, their run rate was quite slow as they scored at 2.47 rate.
