India cricketers wore badges to show their respect to India military, commemorating the Armed Forces Week during the third Test against Sri Lanka at Delhi on Saturday. Virat Kohli and his Team India mates will flaunt the tri-colour badge throughout the Test at Feroz Shah Kotla as India look to seal the three-match series. India celebrates its Armed Forces Week from December 1 to December 7 every year. The Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated on December 1 to show respect and gratitude towards those who devote their lives for the safety of the countrymen.

Former cricketer VVS Laxman also tweeted on the occasion.

India opted to bat and sent Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay to open their innings on Saturday. Though Dhawan (23) and Cheteshwar Pujara (23) departed early, Kohli stitched a 167-run unbeaten partnership with Vijay before Tea. Vijay scored a century as India were 245 for 2.
