India have swapped places with England in the latest ICC ODI team rankings for men, becoming the top-ranked side in the world. England began the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as the No.1 ODI team but following three defeats in the ongoing tournament, they have slipped one spot to be placed at two.

On the other hand, India have climbed on one spot courtesy their unbeaten run, having won four of their five matches so far with one being washed out due to rain.

England, a pre-tournament favourites, started their bid for a maiden 50-over world title with a dominating win over South Africa before being humbled by Pakistan in their next match. However, they recovered from the jolt with a hat-trick of wins including against Bangladesh, West Indies and Afghanistan, strengthening their chances further for a spot in the semis.

But since their 150-run over Afghanistan, they were stunned by Sri Lanka and then bested by defending champions Australia leaving them on shaky grounds.

On the other hand, India need to win at least one more match for a safe passage to the semis.

India, with 123 rating points are followed by England (122) at second and New Zealand (114) at third position. Australia (112) and South Africa (109), who are out of the semis running, complete the top-five.
