The trifling issue regarding Uri attack and the following surgical attack by India has shaken every stature of the society and Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has come out to say that he is ready for martyrdom if time and situation calls for it. Talking to a Pakistan TV channel, Miandad expressed his discontent over a few statements of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi had said that the political condition between the two countries at war hamper themselves, showing his protest against the turbulence in relationship between the two neighbours. Miandad spoke to Samaa TV saying, “We are ready for martyrdom. Our nation cannot be cowed down by hollow threats.”

While Afridi had posted on micro-blogging site Twitter, “Pakistan is a peace loving nation,y talk abt extreme measures when things can be resolved through dialogues. Pakistan wants cordial Relationship with all. When 2 neighbours fight both homes are effected.”

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Anurag Thakur said, “Keeping in mind that the government has adopted a new strategy to isolate Pakistan and in view of the public sentiment in the country, we request ICC not to put India and Pakistan in the same pool of the multi-nation tournaments.

If the two countries reach the semi-finals and have to clash at that time, it is another situation which can t be avoided, he added.

On September 18, four armed men attacked the Indian army base camp in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in a death toll of 81, including 19 from Indian armed force. Here is what Afridi said on Twitter:

 

Earlier, Miandad had lashed out at BCCI for Thakur’s statement on India vs Pakistan series saying, India forgets and can overlook virtually everything if driven by its own interests.
