India thrashed West Indies by 237 runs in the third Test at St Lucia. It was another clinical performance from Team India as the take an unassailable 2-0 lead over West Indies in the four-match series. Many took to Twitter to congratulate India on this excellent win. West Indies were in a good position till the end of Day Two. Rain played spoilsport and washed away the third day of the match, but after play resumed on Day four, India dominated from there on. This is only the third time India have defeated West Indies at the Caribbean. India had won the first Test at Antigua by an innings and 92 runs. West Indies fought back well in the second Test at Jamaica to draw the match. After beginning the third Test well, they went on to suffer a big defeat at the hands of India. West Indies were set a target of 346 after India declared on 217 for 7, batting just nine overs on the final day. Ajinkya Rahane top-scored for them in the second innings with an unbeaten 78. West Indies never got going and were eventually bowled out for just 108, thereby registering their second lowest score in the longest format against India. But it was initially centuries from Ravichandran Ashwin and Wriddhiman Saha in the first innings that set up the game for India and took them to 353. The fourth Test at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad begins from August 18 and although West Indies have lost the series, they will still want to register as a consolatory win.
