The Indian cricket team has a busy home season coming up as they will be playing 13 Tests, 10 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and one-off Twenty20 International (T20I) in the 2016-17 season. India will be hosting as many as four teams during the season, which will be Bangladesh, New Zealand, England and Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) informed in a release that the Indian cricket team will be having a busy season ahead, and that its Tour and Program Fixtures Committee will be looking into the issue of drawing more fans into stadiums during Test matches.

The BCCI said in a release, “[Tour and Program Fixtures] Committee also discussed various options to bring more fans to Test matches in the coming season. During the 2016-17 season India is to play a total of thirteen (13) Test matches, ten (10) One day Internationals and one (1) T20I’s against Bangladesh, New Zealand, England and Australia.”

England and Wales Cricket Board‘s (ECB) official website says that the English cricket team will be playing 5 Tests, 5 ODIs and one-off T20I against India on their tour. While the Tests will be played in November-December 2016, the limited-overs leg of their tour will take place in January-February 2017. On the other hand, Australia are expected to play a four-Test series against India in the same season. Preliminary reports have said it will be a four-Test affair between India and Australia, for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Australia and India have been generally playing four-Test series, with the Steven Smith-led side being the current holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
