David Warner got Australia off to a flying start against India in the first Test at Adelaide. Mohammed Shami and Varun Aaron opened the bowling for India, and Shami started well with just two off the first over. Thereafter, Warner went ballistic, hitting three boundaries off Aaron’s first over before continuing his charge against Shami as well. Warner propelled Australia to 40 for no loss in just four overs.

Earlier, Indian leg-spinner Karn Sharma was announced to be in India’s playing XI against Australia in the first Test at Adelaide. Karn had earlier taken a few wickets in the practice match against Cricket Australia XI, but had also been quite expensive going at an economy rate of over six for his first few overs. Late batsman Phillip Hughes was named as Australia’s 13th man.
