Australia reached 64 for no loss at the end of 10 overs against India in the third One-Day International (ODI) at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali on Saturday.

The openers — Aaron Finch and Phil Hughes — continued to muster runs as Ishant Sharma’s woes continued. He has failed to hit rhythm in the series so far.

Umpire Shamshuddin continued to be in the spotlight as a close leg-before appeal for Hughes was declined.

Needing 304 to win, Australia’s chase got off to a good start as Finch smashed a boundary to end the first over.

Earlier, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took advantage of the swinging conditions before a poor delivery outside off got the treatment it deserved.

Vinay Kumar’s over started off poorly as he targeted Phil Hughes’ legs with a leg slip stationed. However, he ended up giving six runs in wide before bowling his first legitimate ball.

Although both the bowlers strayed in their line, both the openers looked out of sorts when they got it right.
