India will take on the dominant Australia for the fourth time in the five-match One-Day International (ODI) series, at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Wednesday. Australia have already wrapped up the series by winning the first three matches, and India will have to play with a hope to survive through in the pending two matches. It has been a disappointing outing for India, who have managed to put up a stern fight in all three games but they have slipped away. Their batting has looked solid, with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, and even Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni contributing. Sadly, India’s bowlers have continued to disappoint to close out the hosts despite being in good positions in all three games. It is here that India will need to make their major changes. Barring Umesh Yadav and Barinder Sran who have been good in bursts. Ishant Sharma has been good without ever looking threatening. Australia, on the other hand, have their batsmen to thank for their series win. The bowlers have not really helped in building special records but George Bailey, Steven Smith, Aaron Finch, and Shaun Marsh saved the records for themselves. Glenn Maxwell proved himself capable of playing a responsible innings in the 3rd ODI at MCG with a match-winning 96. READ: India vs Australia 2015-16, 4th ODI at Canberra: Preview

David Warner is likely to return for the fourth ODI, which means Marsh might have to miss out despite looking good in the chances he has got. Without the services of Mitchell Johnson and Mitchell Starc, Australia’s bowling attack looks quite ordinary. Beside John Hastings and to a lesser degree James Faulkner, none of the bowlers from either side have managed to do anything of note.

India have not made many changes on their squad yet but bowling lacks accuracy and consistency. Australia have roped in David Warner and Nathan Lyon back in squad, while Josh Hazlewood have been rested for rest of the tournament. India is expecting for breakthrough in fourth ODI at Canberra to get hold of the series. MS Dhoni needs to wear his thinking cap to try new strategies against hosts in next game at Canberra. We can only hope to see some improvements from past errors and watch out for new plans being executed.
