Australia offspinner Nathan Lyon has praised Jasprit Bumrah calling him a very good all-round package and a top-class bowler. Bumrah rattled Australian batsmen on Day 3 picking up 6/33 saw them being skittled for 151 in their first innings.

“Bumrah is quick and has a very good slower one,” Lyon told reporters after the conclusion of Day 4. “He is world class and has all skills, a very good all-round package. Not surprised that he is a top bowler in Test cricket so quickly because I have seen him in white ball cricket. So, he is obviously a top-class bowler.”

After setting a daunting 399 to win the third Test, India are just two wickets away from a historic win to regain the lead in the four-Test series. After being reduced to 176/7 at one stage, Pat Cummins struck a career-best 61 not out to push the Test into the fifth and final day.

Australia finished the day on 258/8. “We are up against a world-class bowling attack, one of the best Indian attacks I have ever seen. They [Our batsmen] are disappointed but I know how hard they are working. Success for them is around the corner. Pat Cummins has been exceptional in this match and he keeps getting better every day. I enjoy batting with pat helps calm down my nerves and it was an exciting challenge. It was a pretty special knock from him.

He continued, “He is a great bloke but even better cricketer. Seeing where he started from and seeing where he is now, he has a hell of a long career ahead of him.”
