India vs Australia, 2nd ODI in Melbourne: Gurinder Sandhu dismisses Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane has been dismissed in the second One-Day International (ODI) of the tri-series. He was dismissed by Gurinder Sandhu, as he tried to play at one close to his body and was taken by Brad Haddin. This is Sandhu’s first wicket in international cricket and he has made his ODI debut today.

Rahane scored only 12 and was constructing a decent stand with Rohit Sharma, after India had lost Shikhar Dhawan early. At the other end, Rohit has looked in very good touch and is batting well. Virat Kohli has walked out to bat and is under a bit of pressure with Australia picking the early wickets. In eight overs, India are 36 for two.

Earlier, MS Dhoni had won the toss and elected to bat first. The only change in the Australian team was that Gurinder Sandhu has walked in place of Xavier Doherty. Sandhu is the first man of Indian origin to play for Australia. India did not field Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. Akshar Patel is in there for Jadeja.
