India went in to lunch at 38 for for no loss on Day Three of the second Test at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. After bowling Australia out for 276 in the first hour of morning session, Indian openers KL Rahul and Abhinav Mukund batted with caution. However, Australia started off the proceedings with pacers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, keeping pace-spin ploy aside. With over 8 sessions still to be played, both teams have enough time to make amends and get the better of each other. Besides, with the clouds looming over Bengaluru, India will have to adopt a calculative approach to keep Australia at bay. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs Australia, 2nd Test at Bengaluru

Ravindra Jadeja took bulk of the wickets, registering his third six-wicket haul. India were staring down the barrel, as the visitors added vital runs to the lead. Thanks to Jadeja that he took three of the four wickets that fell in the first session, giving India some respite in otherwise Australia-dominating match. While pacers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav took a wicket apiece, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scalped two important wickets of David Warner and Mitchell Starc. In addition, Jadeja took a brilliant catch in the deep early on, timing his jump to perfection to send the dangerous Starc packing. FULL CRICKET UPDATES: India vs Australia, 2nd Test, Day 3

Mukund, who was on a pair, tried rotating the strike, keeping the scoreboard ticking. However, India finally had some luck on their side. A Mitchell Starc bouncer induced a top edge off Mukund’s bat and flew over the wicketkeeper’s head for a six. The Australian, for apparent reasons, had a word with Mukund in the heat of the moment.
