India vs Australia 4th ODI at Ranchi called off due to rain

The fourth One-Day International of the seven-match series between India and Australia was abandoned due to heavy rains on Wednesday. Australia lead the series 2-1, with three more ODIs left in the series.

Chasing a target of 296, India were 27 for no loss in 4.1 overs before rain interrupted for the second time in the day to stop the proceedings.

Shikhar Dhawan cracked three boundaries to reach 14 not ouf off 12 balls, accompanied by Rohit Sharma on nine.

Earlier in the day, George Bailey and Glenn Maxwell’s 153-run stand for the fifth wicket helped Australia post a challenging target of 296 against India .

Both Bailey and Maxwell missed out on well-deserved centuries after their gritty stand revived Australia from a top-order collapse masterminded by India seamer Shami Ahmed.

Shami claimed three wickets early on to put pressure on Australia.
