India managed a one-run victory over Bangladesh at the World Twenty20 (T2016) 2016 on Wednesday, with Mahendra Singh Dhoni running out Mustafizur Rahman with the last ball of the game. The  hosts had been on the verge of suffering their first ever T20 defeat to Bangladesh, when the latter goofed up in the latter half of the final over, when they required just two off the final three balls but did not even manage to score one. Bumrah made up for his earlier faults in the 17th over, when he strung almost six perfect yorkers together. In the final three overs, Bangladesh were required needing 27 off three overs. India earlier scored a middling 146 for 7 against Bangladesh. The pitch may not have been particularly conducive to shot-making, but credit has to go to the Bangladeshi bowlers for very smart bowling right through the innings. India’s group stage victory bolsters their chances of reaching the semi-finals, but they must now defeat Australia on Sunday to secure a place in the final four.
