Joe Root hit only nine boundaries during his knock AFP

After losing top three wickets in the first session, England made a strong comeback with their vice-captain Joe Root scoring an impressive ton against India at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. Root came to bat after England lost its first wicket in the form of skipper Alastair Cook at the score of 47. Further, two more wickets, while he was at the non-striker end. Those two wickets were of debutant Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett. Cook scored 21, while Hameed made 31 and Duckett got out on 13. In England’s last tour of India in 2012, Root got to made his Test debut and this is his second tour of this nation.
