Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay steadied India’s innings after the dismissal of Shikar Dhawan for 12 in the first Test against England at trent Bridge, Nottingham on Wednesday. Vijay has settled in and is playing confidently on 41, while Pujara is on 17. India are 71 for one.

Anderson picked his 50th Test wicket at Trent Bridge when he dismissed Dhawan. That dismissal brought in Pujara who was tested with good length deliveries that jagged back in to him. With his technical soundness, Pujara dealt confidently while Vijay was dealing in boundaries.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat with Stuart Binny making his Test debut — 281st for India.
