Jayant Yadav, who made his debut for India replacing Amit Mishra, made an impact on the move with his innings of 35 runs off 84 deliveries on Day Two of the second Test at Visakhapatnam. He built a steady partnership of 64 runs for the eighth wicket with Ravichandran Ashwin, who was dismissed for 58 by Ben Stokes. Jayant afeel prey to the England spinners and Adil Rashid got his first wicket in the innings followed by yet another wicket of Umesh Yadav which was his second to bundle out India for 455. Virat Kohli was earlier restricted from scoring his double-century as he was dismissed for 67 by Moeen Ali. Kohli has scored two double-century in previous Test series against West Indies as well as New Zealand. Had he continued to play and got to his double-century, he would have been the first Indian Test captain to secure this new record. Kohli was supported by India’s composed batsman Cheteshwar Pujara’s 10th Test century on Day One as he secured 119. Ashwin got to his 8th Test half-century that helped India go past the 450-run mark.

He got his second with Wriddhiman Saha being dismissed for 3 and the third one came in quick succession as Ravindra Jadeja was gone for a duck. India had also made another change to their side with the inclusion of KL Rahul in place of Gautam Gambhir which was declared by the Indian Test captain on Wednesday.
