India found a stabaliser in form of Ravichandran Ashwin as he secured his 8th Test half-century on Day Two of the second Test at Visakhapatnam on Friday. He got to his fifty off 89 deliveries that included 5 fours. But could not stay longer and was dismissed for 58 with Ben Stokes getting a wicket after all the attempts failed earlier. Jonathan Bairstow grabbed it behind the stumps, ending India’s hope to reach the 450-run mark. England held fort in the first session with Moeen Ali restricting Virat Kohli his third double-century in a calendar year. He later went on to target India’s resilient batsman Wriddhiman Saha who was dismissed for 3 after DRS was taken, with umpire Dharmasena declaring it out. Following was the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja who was gone for duck. LIVE Cricket Scorecard: India vs England 2nd Test at Vizag

All wickets were grabbed by Moeen and that helped England to gain momentum in the game that was tilting towards India. Kohli has scored two double-century in previous Test series against West Indies as well as New Zealand. Had he continued to play and got to his double-century, he would have been the first Indian Test captain to secure this new record. Kohli was supported by India’s composed batsman Cheteshwar Pujara’s 10th Test century on Day One as he secured 119 and was dismissed by comeback man James Anderson, who was called by England to replace Chris Woakes.

Jayant Yadav, who is making his Test debut, is playing along side Ashwin at 27 and will be itching to make his maiden Test half-century as well. He has already scored 3 fours, making his entry count. He has scored double-century in domestic arena.

England bowlers are trying hard to restrict India below the 500-run mark by bundling them out soon. However, at the rate Jayant is moving, India have full chance to atleast reach the 450-run mark.
