India have celebrated many milestones in the 2nd Test with Virat Kohli’s 50th Test and now Ravichandran Ashwin completing his 50th Test wicket for the year 2016. Rangana Herath of Sri Lanka remains at the top with 54 wickets this year and he stands second in the list. He found the perfect target in form of Ben Stokes, who was dismissed for 70 on Day Three of the second Test. Ashwin has shown all-round performance in this series and with this 50th Test wicket, he also got to 400 runs this year. He also bagged seven Man of the Series award so far and the latest one was the New Zealand series. England have other players in contention for this milestone included James Anderson, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes who are just 10-11 runs away from to accomplishing this feat. So Ashwin clearly takes the cake away as he is the only India to enter this stage. England are on the brink of collapse as they have lost 8 wickets and India need two more to end the English innings.

India have put up 455 runs with Kohli being the highlight of the innings with his 167 knock. Cheteshwar Pujara supported Kohli with his century as well and Ashwin adding the icing on the cake with his fifty. India are once again at the top with their all-round performance and striving hard to remain at the top spot of ICC Test rankings.
