As a confident Indian side prepare to face England in the third Test at Mohali, the hosts name a major change with Parthiv Patel coming in for Wriddhiman Saha as the team’s wicketkeeper-batsman. Saha, who has been there in Tests for the role since MS Dhoni’s retirement, has been rested for the third game and will make place for veteran Parthiv, who is currently playing in Ranji Trophy 2016-17 as the skipper of Gujarat. As per the reports, Saha much praised for his ‘keeping skills lately, has suffered an injury which led the management to this decision. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs England 3rd Test at Mohali

Reported, it was the second Test during which the wicketkeeper-batsman strained the left thigh. He will be given time to recover while Parthiv has a golden chance in hand to play a Test for India after eight years. His last appearance in whites for the team was in 2008, six years after his debut in the format, when India toured Sri Lanka for a three-match series. Parthiv played in the final Test scoring 13 in the first innings and a solitary run in the second.

Parthiv looks to be in a good form in domestic cricket. The Gujarat skipper recently played brilliantly in the match against Madhya Pradesh as he scored 49 in the first innings and remained unbeaten on 139 in the second. India, who are coming from a 246-run victory in the second Test at Visakhapatnam, will want Parthiv to put in his 100 per cent in order to help the team bag a consecutive win.
