The audacity with which Rishabh Pant walked down the track to wrist spinner Adil Rashid and hoisted him for a six, his first scoring shot in Test cricket, was the highlight of day one of the third Test between India and England  at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Saturday.

On Sunday, Pant resuming batting on 22, could only add two runs to his overnight total before Stuart Broad castled the Delhi wicketkeeper batsman and the England veteran took his shot at the 20-year-old, probably for the audacious hit yesterday, bad mouthing the youngster with the choicest of words.

On commentary, former Indian opener Sanjay Manjrekar was not amused and highlighted Broad’s unsportsmanlike behaviour. To his credit, Pant was was unmoved and quietly walked back with his head down without reacting to Broad.
