India’s slip fielding continues to cost them wickets. With the new ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar found the edge of Jos Buttler but Virat Kohli at slips dropped it. Buttler was on 32 then and England’s lead had just gone past 100. England are 272 for six with a lead of 119.

Buttler is inching closer to his second Test fifty in consecutive Tests since debut at Southampton. England are slowly ensuring that they cannot lose this match at all.

Earlier, Root got to his seventh Test fifty. Root has now scored fifties in his first five Tests against India. Buttler too is going solidly. These two came together at 170 for six.
