Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina steadied the ship for India against England in the fifth One-Day International (ODI) at Headingley. After three early wickets, the pair added some quick runs to ensure that the required run rate never crossed to unmanageable levels.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to field first. Dhawal Kulkarni got to play just one game before being dropped in favour of Umesh Yadav, while Ben Stokes and James Tredwell came in to replace Gary Ballance and Harry GurneyJoe Root’s superb century guided England to a commanding score of 294 for seven. After skipper Alastair Cook got England off to a good start, the pair of Root and Jos Buttler consolidated, while Stokes provided some late fireworks.
