Virat Kohli continues to earn admiration for his excellent performance in the ongoing India vs England 1st Test at Egdbaston. Kohli struck an excellent century while his team was in deep trouble on the second day and single-handed effort brought India back in the contest.

Later, after his bowlers complemented his knock by bowling out England for 180 in second innings, Kohli turned on his rescue act once again even as others around him crumbled in a stiff chase of 194. His unbeaten 43 has kept India in the hunt despite the visitors losing half their side on 110.

He has followed this innings with a superlative 149 that allowed England only a slim 13-run first innings lead.

Australia legend Steve Waugh has joined the list of Kohli fans after watching him thwart rampaging England seamers. The legendary captain posted a picture of Kohli on his Instagram account, calling him a global superstar and predicted the Indian to break all batting records.

“This guy is a global superstar. Will break all records in world cricket. @virat.kohli #india #ultimatecompetitor #passion,” Waugh posted on Friday.

Kohli has conquered what was considered to be his final frontier as far as batting in Test cricket is concerned. While he has scored runs in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, England was an exception. During India’s previous tour in 2014, he logged 134 runs across 10 innings. But when he returned as the captain of the side he surpassed that tally in one innings, and has shown that he’s in good nick.
