The live cricket streaming of the first One-Day International (ODI) between India and England will be available on Hotstar, while the live cricket telecast of the match will be available on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports HD1. The Hindi commentary of the India versus England first ODI will be available on Star Sports 3 and Star Sports HD3. In England, the streaming will be available on skysports.com, while the live telecast will be available on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD. This ODI will see India playing under the new permanent captain Virat Kohli after MS Dhoni stepped down earlier this month.

India last played an ODI against New Zealand in October. This series includes three ODI matches, followed by three Twenty20 Internationals. The match will be played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. India have played only one ODI at this ground previously, which they lost by 72 runs against Australia in 2013. Despite that, the hosts would be riding high on confidence after their 4-0 Test series victory against England. But ODI is a different format altogether and the visitors have been sensational since the 2015 world cup. They have quite a lot of big hitters in their lineup and the likes of Root, Stokes and Buttler are quite innovative with their strokeplay.

They bat deep and are always a constant threat to the opposition bowlers. In the bowling department, David Willey will spearhead the seam attack and he has Chris Woakes for company who was brilliant in the recently concluded Test series against the hosts. On the other hand, the Men in Blue are a force to reckon with and the home conditions only bolsters them more. The spotlight would also be on Dhoni and he would look to play his natural game after stepping down from captaincy. India have a well rounded side and they will bank upon the duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to weave their magic with the ball. Expect a cracker of a contest.
