After winning the series against West Indies and New Zealand, India are set to hosts England for the first Test at Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot on Wednesday. The live telecast of the match will be shown with English commentary on Star Sports HD 1, Star Sports 1 and Hindi commentary on Stars Sports HD 3 and Star Sports 3. England have lot of milestones to celebrate as captain Alastair Cook is set to surpass Mike Atherton as he will captain England for the 55th match, a record previously held by Artherton for 54 matches. The series will be the first five-match affair on Indian soil in three decades and the opening clash will also mark the debut of Rajkot as a Test venue. It promises to be an engrossing contest between the world No.1 ranked India and the team that last beat them at home four years ago. The current team led by Virat Kohli, was beaten by England four years ago and in England two years ago by 3-1, that cannot be forgotten. England are coming shell shocked after being defeated by Bangladesh in the two-Test series, that was leveled. The tourists have also not played any warm-up game after landing in India a week ago. Add to that, their highest Test wicket-taker James Anderson is not available for at least the opening skirmish as he is yet to return to complete fitness from a shoulder injury. There is Zafar Ansari on the side as well to boost the spin department. It will be a battle of attrition between the two sides and India would be expected to hold their own better in home conditions.
