After a below-par show in the first Test, India will hope to better their performance in the second Test against England at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. The live telecast of the match will be shown with English commentary on Star Sports HD 1, Star Sports 1 and Hindi commentary on Stars Sports HD 3 and Star Sports 3. The live streaming of the match will be available on starsports.com. The pitch in Visakhapatnam is expected to be wonky that could be testing time for the visitors batting, where it was the complete opposite at Rajkot. Indian spinners bagged just nine wickets with four England batsmen scoring centuries. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs England 2nd Test at Visakhapatnam

Indian spinners faced tough time bagging wickets, especially Ravichandran Ashwin maintaining below par figures of 3 for 230 in the first Test. With the inclusion of KL Rahul, India s batting line-up has boosted further. That means Gautam Gambhir will have to call curtains to his innings in this series. There are speculations of bringing Ishant Sharma to the squad in place of Umesh Yadav, which could favour India. With the conditions favouring spinners, the question also arises if Kohli will want to go with an extra spinner or an extra batsman in the playing XI. After all those dropped catches, India will also want to better their sloppy fielding.

Unlike New Zealand, England have shown grit and confidence against the ICC Test Ranking top team India. Their batsmen not only scored centuries but their bowlers also bagged 13 wickets in total to provide tough competition. Spinners like Moeen Ali, Zafar Ansari and Adil Rashid shared seven wickets in the match. The focus in this pitch will be on the spinners and as head coach Anil Kumble defended his spinners, apart from Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Amit Mishra will also be up the ante.

It can considered a very rare moment but Indian skipper Virat Kohli and England s run-machine Joe Root will be playing their 50th Test. Both the players, who are considered to be the main run-getters for their respective side, will want to make this opportunity count. Mishra will also want to make this opportunity count after his match-winning figures of 5 for 18 against New Zealand in the same venue in October. India faced tough time through the way with their middle-order shaken whenever Kohli or Ajinkya Rahane has not been at the top. Gambhir’s comeback experiment is clearly not giving the results and the lefthander with his open chested stance found himself out of sorts against a Stuart Broad in-coming delivery to be trapped leg before wicket. About the spin battle, England cannot be underestimated and they have made their intention clear by extending the contract of Pakistani great Saqlain Mushtaq who’s travelling as the spin bowling consultant.

Past series saw two best batsmen, Cook and Root, making their debut in 2006 and 2012 in India. Cook who captained his side for the 55th time, which was a record in itself, proved his stance getting his century. Root will take the similar path. Kohli, in hindsight, will also double his scores for the pending one missed out at Rajkot.
