# Kevin Pietersen has received his first Man Of the Match award against India – his fifth in T20Is. Only Sanath Jayasuriya and Shahid Afridi have got more MOM awards (six each) than Pietersen in Twenty20 Internationals.

# Pietersen (53 off 39 balls) recorded his first fifty against India in T20Is, surpassing the 46 at Lord’s on June 14, 2009.

# Pietersen is the first English batsman to register a fifty against India in Twenty20, outstripping the 49 by Eoin Morgan at Old Trafford on August 31, 2011.

# Pietersen has recorded six half-centuries in T20is – the most by an England player. His tally of 171 (ave.42.75) in four matches against India is the highest in India-England Twenty20 Internationals.

# Ravindra Jadeja (4-1-9-1) has recorded an economy rate of 2.25 – the best by an Indian bowler in Twenty20 Internationals, eclipsing the 2.75 by Pragyan Ojha (4-0-11-2) against Zimbabwe at Harare on June 12,2010.

# Suresh Raina (39 off 29 balls) has posted his highest score against England, eclipsing the 33 at Manchester on August 31, 2011.

# Ravichandran Ashwin (17 not out off 11 balls) has recorded his highest score in T20Is.

# India (120/9) have recorded their third lowest total in Twenty20 Internationals – the two lowest are 74 against Australia at Melbourne on February 1, 2008 and 118 for eight against South Africa at Trent Bridge on June 16, 2009.

# Steven Finn (3/22) has registered his best bowling figures in T20Is. His figures are the second best by an England bowler against India in Twenty20 Internationals, next only to 4 for 22 by Jade Dernbach at Old Trafford on August 31, 2011.

# Finn has established a record for the best bowling figures in Twenty20 Internationals in India, surpassing Yuvraj Singh’s 3 for 23 for India against Sri Lanka at Mohali on December 12, 2009.

# Ajinkya Rahane has recorded his first duck in Twenty20 Internationals.

# Ravindra Jadeja has posted his first duck in Twenty20 Internationals.

# England became the second team after New Zealand to register three victories in a row against India in Twenty20 Internationals – by 3 runs at Lord’s on June 14, 2009, by 6 wickets at Old Trafford on August 31, 2011 and by 6 wickets at Kolkata on October 29, 2011.

# England’s superb six-wicket victory is their third in four games against India in T20Is – success rate of 75.00 per cent.

# England’s win is their first against India in India since 2006. England’s last victory in India was by 5 wickets in an ODI at Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur on April 12, 2006.

# Ravi Bopara (2/16) has registered his best figures against India in T20Is. The said performance is his second best, next only to the 4 for 10 against West Indies at The Oval on September 23, 2011.
