After early collapse of the heavy top-order of Indian cricket team, Yuvraj Singh emerged as the saviour as he scored a century during the second One-Day International (ODI) against England at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. After he reached the landmark, cricketers like VVS Laxman, Kevin Pietersen, Mohammed Shami and others wished Yuvraj for his knock on Twitter. The spectators at Cuttack had witnessed a similar collapse as the Twnety20 International (T20I) against South Africa at the same venue where India were reduced to 25 for 3 after 4.4 overs of their innings. Yuvraj paired up with MS Dhoni and played a much-needed knock that provided India with solidity. This is Yuvraj s first century-run knock since the one against West Indies during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan opened India s innings but the two could not last long. Rahul was the first to lose his wicket as Chris Woakes provided England with their first breakthrough. He soon removed Virat Kohli, giving India the biggest blow of the innings. Woakes picked another wicket soon after, as he dismissed Dhawan and the three early scalps landed the hosts in trouble. However, Yuvraj-Dhoni partnership added in excess of 100 runs to bring India back into the game. Yuvraj scored his century off 98 deliveries, hitting 15 fours and a six. This is his 14th century in the format. As he scored hundred, Dhoni scored his half-century and remained unbeaten.
