India start their preparations for the highly anticipated five-Test series against England with a three-day practice match against Essex from Wednesday.

India, the top-ranked Test team, can expect a sizeable crowd at the The Cloudfm County Ground.
Initially, the contest was supposed to be a four-day affair before a day was shaved citing heat wave. This was after the Indian team cut short their practice session on Tuesday because of the ragged outfield.
Essex have named a 13-man squad to be led by Tom Westley.
