India debutant Hardik Pandya struck in the first over of his One-Day International (ODI) debut, when he had the New Zealand opener Martin Guptill caught at the second slip in the first match at Dharamsala. But the success came at some cost for the right-arm bowler, who was hit for three boundaries earlier in the over by the New Zealand opener Guptill, who has been in a desperate search for runs. New Zealand were 18 for 1 in 3 overs with their captain Kane Williamson walking out to bat at No. 3, following the dismissal of Guptill on the final ball of the second over of the innings. Guptill was dismissed for 12 off 11 balls. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs New Zealand, 1st ODI at Dharamsala

Guptill scored a gritty half-century in the final innings of the last Test of the three-match series, and his approach was not surprising on Sunday as the right-hander looked to attack right from the word go. He got three boundaries first-up, with one of them coming off an edge as Guptill looked to leave the ball outside off. But Hardik Pandya, who has been a revelation of sorts, made the final ball bounce tad more than expected, and Rohit Sharma was hit on his stomach when the ball went flying to him at the second slip.
