India and New Zealand 2nd ODI will be played on Wednesday, January 14, at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. India enter the match with a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the opening game on Sunday, January 11.
Virat Kohli’s 93-run knock played a key role in India’s victory in the first ODI at Vadodara. The win gave India an early advantage as they head into the second match with confidence and momentum.
India have suffered a setback ahead of the second ODI as Washington Sundar has been ruled out due to injury. The all-rounder featured in the opening match but will miss the rest of the series.
In Sundar’s absence, Ayush Badoni has been added to the squad.
Badoni is a right-handed batter from Delhi and represents Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL. He is yet to make his international debut, but his inclusion gives India an extra option in the number five batting position.
India will face New Zealand in the second ODI on Wednesday, January 14. The match is scheduled to start at 1:30 PM IST, with the toss taking place at 1:00 PM IST in Rajkot.
