India managed to get the first breakthrough of the match as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed Jesse Ryder caught in the gully for 17 in the fifth One-Day International (ODI) at Wellington.

Ryder was looking threatening having hit a six and a four. He tried to drive on the up to a delivery moving away from him. He was caught in the gully brilliantly by Ajinkya Rahane.

Rahane fumbled o take the catch and somehow managed to latch on to it. Bhuvneshwar was rewarded for his remarkable persistence consistently swinging the ball away from Ryder and troubling Martin Guptill as well. The pacers have got off to a good start with Shami bowling consecutive maiden overs. Bhuvneshwar could have well had Guptill if Varun Aaron had managed to take a regulation catch at mid-wicket.

Kane Williamson is the new batsman for the Kiwis. Williamson’s wicket will be crucial as he has been a thorn for India throughout the series. He has scored a half-century in all the matches this series.
