Earlier, Indian skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first, as he made the only change in the side, in the form of opener Shikhar Dhawan, who was replace by Ajinkya Rahane. While Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi went with a strong batting side squad, that included seven batsmen and four fast bowlers. The track in Mirpur seems to be hard and has more grass, thus allowing Dhoni to use the conditions in the first half prominently, as he believes he is all right with his fitness, while Afridi had no hesitations to bat first in the match.
