The cloud of uncertainty is still looming over India-Pakistan ICC World T20 2016 match that is scheduled on March 19, 20016, at Dharamshala. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan on Tuesday evening said they want either Kolkata or Mohali to host the marqee contest, as the Himachal Pradesh government hasn’t promised to provide full security to the Pakistan team. To address this issue, the PCB has sent a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and wants the location to be changed as soon as possible. Only time will tell whether ICC adheres to the demand to relocate the venue or not. SCORECARD: India vs Pakistan , 19th T20 Match, Super 10 Group 2, ICC T20 World Cup 2016

“The Himachal CM has not committed full security for the match and the Indian government has also not come up with any assuring statement so far,” Khan told Times of India, adding, “Under the circumstances, how can we allow our team to play there?” One of the PCB officials stated that this issue was raised due to Indian government’s unclear approach on the issue. Khan added, “Our real problem is that we haven’t got any security arrangement details from the government of India. We are still waiting to hear from them officially. We at least need to be told about the position of the protesters in Dharamashala or about Shiv Sena’s threat.” India vs Pakistan, ICC World T20 2016: HP government sending wrong message, says Anurag Thakur

Khan said that the final call of staging the match at either Mohali or Kolkata will be taken before consulting the Pakistan government. “I have sent an email to the ICC that if Dharamshala has a problem hosting Pakistan-India World T20 game, the match should be played either in Mohali or Kolkata. The Pakistan board is also open to the idea of playing it elsewhere as long as the safety and security of the Pakistani cricketers is taken care of.” As Pakistan team is already scheduled to play WT20 matches in Mohali and Kolkata, it would be convenient for them to play at these venues. Sources in Pakistan cricket council said that Pakistan team, as well as fans and journalists, might be under threat, as it would be difficult for the police to control the boisterous Indian crowd.
