India vs South Africa, 2nd Test: Virat Kohli makes 3 changes for Centurion Test; Ishant Sharma comes in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Virat Kohli and team management continued to surprise everyone at toss on Day one of the second Test. Losing the toss, for the second time in the series, Kohli announced that India had made three changes to their side from Cape Town Test. Most notable is the inclusion of Ishant Sharma for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Shikhar Dhawan was expectedly dropped in favour of KL Rahul. Another unfortunate change is that Wriddhiman Saha. Saha has been replaced by Parthiv Patel as the former is down with a hamstring niggle. Saha had claimed an Indian record of 10 catches in the Newlands Test. The reason given for Ishant’s inclusion is that he can produce extract bounce from the track as compared to Bhuvneshwar.

South Africa too were forced to make a change. They handed Lungisani Ngidi his maiden Test cap at his home ground, replacing the injured Dale Steyn.  Faf du Plessis opted to bat first for the second time in the series.

South Africa lead the 3-Test series 1-0.
