India A batsmen went on a carnage against the touring Sri Lankans at Brabourne Stadium, piling up 381 for six from the stipulated 50 overs. Sri Lanka started with Nuwan Kulasekara and Dhammika Prasad, but they were no match for the brutal onslaught put up by Rohit Sharma and Unmukt Chand.

The openers put up 95 in a mere 12.5 overs before Chand fell to Lahiru Gamage for a 42-ball 53; but the carnage had only just begun, as Manish Pandey joined Rohit. Both men reached hundreds, and Rohit even looked all set for a double-hundred before Gamage ran him out. Rohit’s 142 came off a mere 111 balls, while the pair added 214 in 166.
Manoj Tiwary walked out, and immediately eased into proceedings, tearing the bowling attack. India lost tempo towards the end, and though Tiwary (36), Kedar Jadhav (0), and Sanju Samson (1) fell in the space of five balls to Prasad, they eventually finished on 381 as Stuart Binny (1) fell on the last ball to Gamage. Pandey finished on 135 not out from 113 balls.

Brief scores:

India A 381 for 6 in 50 overs (Rohit Sharma 142, Manish Pandey 135 not out, Unmukt Chand 53, Manoj Tiwary 36; Dhammika Prasad 3 for 57) against Sri Lankans.
