Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed in the seventh over of the match against Sri Lanka played at Ahmedabad.

Rahane tried to flash hard at a full delivery pitched outside off but edged it and it was caught by Mahela Jayawardena on the first slip after Kumar Sangakkara failed to hold on to the catch.

Sri Lanka managed to reach to a total of 274 in the stipulated 50 overs. Angelo Mathews who came in to bat at No. 5 took the charge of the Sri Lankan innings and remained unbeaten on 92 at the end of the innings. He was also involved in the 90 run partnership with Kumar Sangakkara for the fourth wicket. Sangakkara also scored his 87th half-century in this match he scored 61 runs. The ninth wicket partnership between Dhammika Prasad and Mathews was crucial in lifting the team to respectable total.
