Sri Lanka lost two quick wickets after Kumar Sangakkara and Angelo Mathews settled the innings in the second One-Day International (ODI) played between India and Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad on Thursday.

Seekkuge Prasanna was the first one to be dismissed after he found Ambati Rayudu in the deep. Ashan Priyanjan followed next as he was run-out.

Earlier, Sangakkara completed his half-century off 73 balls. This was his 87th fifth in this format. Angelo Mathews the new man and Sangakkara looked at ease against spinners. There were a few boundaries hit after the dismissal of Dilshan. Ashwin who conceded 18 runs in his first over got the important wicket of Jayawardena. India got an early breakthrough as Umesh Yadav sprayed a delivery on the middle stump which Perera missed.  Sri Lanka was reduced to four for one after the first over bowled by Umesh Yadav. Tillakaratne Dilshan managed to get two boundaries in the third over bowled by Yadav. Ishant Yadav bowled a good fourth over as he got good bounce from the Ahemdabad track. The over went for only a single run.

After the wicket of Perera, Sangakkara and Dilshan steadied the Sri Lanka innings they were slow but made sure that they didn’t lose any more wickets. Dilshan was bowled by Akshar Patel after he tried to cut a quicker delivery from Patel.

Sri Lanka were 183 for 6 after 38 overs.
