IND 198/4 | Overs 33 |  Dhoni 4*, Yuvraj 11* OUT! Raina 0(5)

Poor shot by Raina. The left-hander charges down the wicket to hit Narine but mis-times the shot, and Holder, standing at point, takes an easy catch. MS Dhoni starts off with a boundary as the fine-leg fielder was in. India need 14 more runs to win.

IND 193/3 | Overs 32 |  Raina 0*, Yuvraj 10* OUT! Kohli 86(84)

IND 186/2 | Overs 31 |  Kohli 80*, Yuvraj 9*

Only two runs score off Jason Holder’s sixth over of the game.

IND 177/2 | Overs 29 |  Kohli 75*, Yuvraj 8*

Narine bowls the first delivery outside the leg stump, as Yuvraj Singh picks an easy boundary. India add another five runs to their total, and now need only 35 runs to win.

IND 172/2 | Overs 28 |  Kohli 75*, Yuvraj 3*

Kohli and Yuvraj are batting at the crease with lot of ease as India inch closer to a huge win at Kochi. Six runs added off Rampaul’s eighth over of the game.

IND 166/2 | Overs 27 |  Kohli 72*, Yuvraj 0*

Rampaul drops it short and Kohli swats it over the fine-leg area for a six, as India add another seven runs. The hosts need a further 46 runs to win from 23 overs with eight wickets in hand.

IND 159/2 | Overs 26 |  Kohli 65*, Yuvraj 0*

Kohli punishes Dwayne Bravo with two consecutive boundaries on the first two balls of the over as India add nine runs to their total. India now need a further 53 runs to win from 24 overs.

IND 150/2 | Overs 25 |  Kohli 56* OUT! Rohit 72(81)

Rohit Sharma falls after a fluent half-century as he is caught at the deep square leg boundary. Rohit scored 72 off 81 balls with the help of eight boundaries and a six. Rohit is dismissed after adding 133 runs for the second wicket with Virat Kohli.

IND 144/1 | Overs 24 | Rohit 71*, Kohli 51*

West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo finally comes in to the attack. Kohli guides the first ball to the deep mid-wicket fielder to bring up his 27th half-century in ODIs. Six runs added by the Indian batsmen in the over.

IND 138/1 | Overs 23 | Rohit 69*, Kohli 49*

Rohit and Virat take four singles off Simmons’s over as India strengthen their hold on the match.

IND 131/1 | Overs 21 | Rohit 66*, Kohli 45*

Virat gets into the act with a fine stroke for a boundary on the leg side as India cruise towards the target of 212. Kohli is nearing his 27th half-century as he is batting on 45.

IND 123/1 | Overs 20 | Rohit 65*, Kohli 40*

Rohit hits a boundary towards the third man area as India add another eight runs to their total. Simmons’s second over of the game yeilds eight runs to the home side, which seems to be under no pressure.

IND 115/1 | Overs 19 | Rohit 59*, Kohli 38*

Seven runs off Narine as India inch closer to the target. The West Indies will need couple of quick wickets to put the hosts under pressure otherwise it’ll be over soon. India now need 97 runs to win from 31 overs.

IND 108/1 | Overs 18 | Rohit 53*, Kohli 37*

Desperate West Indies have now turned to Lendl Simmons in hope of a breakthrough. Dwayne Bravo hasn’t bowled yet. Indian batsmen are at complete ease right now at the crease.

IND 106/1 | Overs 17 | Rohit 52*, Kohli 36*

Indian batsmen are playing dangerous Narine with a lot of caution. Only two runs taken off his fourth over in the match. India now need a further 106 runs in 33 overs.

Rohit is now the leading run-scorer in ODIs this year.

IND 104/1 | Overs 16 | Rohit 51*, Kohli 36*

Rohit Sharma brings up his 20th half-century in ODIs with consecutive boundaries off Deonarine. Indian batsmen are making a mincemeat of the West Indies’ slow bowlers, who need some inspiration to bounce back.

IND 93/1 | Overs 15 | Rohit 41*, Kohli 35*

Only three runs taken off Narine’s third over of the game.

IND 90/1 | Overs 14 | Rohit 39*, Kohli 34*

Indian batsmen take four singles off Narsingh Deonarine’s first over of the game. Rohit has overtaken Virat as the highest scorer with 39 not out. West Indies will need quick wickets in order to make a comeback.

IND 86/1 | Overs 13 | Rohit 37*, Kohli 32*

Rohit now swats Sunil Narine for a six over the midwicket region, as the ball just clears the fielder at that position. 14 runs scored off Narine as earlier in the over, sharp turn off the wicket helped India get five more runs as byes. Rohit and Kohli have now added 69 runs for the second wicket.

IND 72/1 | Overs 12 | Rohit 30*, Kohli 30*

Rohit caresses one towards the point region for a boundary and follows it up with another in the same over off Sammy as India are now accelerating the run scoring. After a cautious start, Rohit has opened up to join Kohli at 30 not out.

IND 63/1 | Overs 11 | Rohit 22*, Kohli 29*

Sloppy work from Holder at the fine leg position gifts India a boundary in Sunil Narine’s first over of the game. India add a further six runs to their total.

IND 57/1 | Overs 10 | Rohit 16*, Kohli 29*

Kohli slaps one through the point region off Darren Sammy as India continue to score runs freely both sides of the wicket. Kohli has been the aggressor in this innings while Rohit has provided a strong support from the other end. India now need 155 runs to win from 40 overs.

IND 52/1 | Overs 9 | Rohit 15*, Kohli 25*

Kohli punches one through the cover region as India seem to be cruising here with almost six runs coming in each over. Darren Sammy comes into the bowling attack.

IND 46/1 | Overs 8 | Rohit 14*, Kohli 20*

India add another five runs through singles off Holder. India now need 166 runs to win from 42 overs with nine wickets in hand.

IND 41/1 | Overs 7 | Rohit 12*, Kohli  18*

Kohli looks in a good touch as he slams the first ball off Rampaul towards the midwicket area for a boundary. The Indian batsmen take two more singles on the following deliveries to take the run count to six from the over.

IND 35/1 | Overs 6 | Rohit 11*, Kohli  13*

Virat Kohli flicks one on the leg side to hit a boundary, as India seem to be picking up after the early loss of their star opener Shikhar Dhawan. Seven runs scored off Holder’s third over in the game.

IND 27/1 | Overs 5 | Rohit 11*, Kohli 6*

Ravi Rampaul continues to trouble Rohit. The Indian opener gets a boundary with an outside edge that flew towards the third man region. Amid a quiet over, there was a loud appeal for caught behind by the West Indies players on the penultimate ball which was turned down by the umpire Rod Tucker.

IND 23/1 | Overs 4 | Rohit 7*, Kohli 6* OUT! Dhawan 5(6)

And there’s the first wicket! Shikhar Dhawan plays an ordinary shot on a ball that was rising up, getting caught behind the wickets off Jason Holder. Dhawan’s lack of foot movement was evident as he was in no position to play a stroke. Virat Kohli walks in, and gets away with a cracking drive for four and a couple of runs.

IND 16/0 | Overs 3 | Rohit 6*, Dhawan 5*

Rampaul troubles Rohit with good line and length but fails to get a breakthrough. The Indian openers add three runs from that over.

IND 13/0 | Overs 2 | Rohit 3*, Dhawan 5*

Jason Holder troubles Rohit with late movement of the ball, which beats the batsman’s bat and races to the boundary after flicking wicketkeeper Johnson Charles’s hands. Dhawan gets going with a fluent cover drive for a boundary as India seem to be attaining momentum early on.

IND 4/0 | Overs 1 | Rohit 2*, Dhawan 1*

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan open for India as they add four runs in the first over off Ravi Rampaul. The uneven bounce on the Kochi stadium’s pitch was evident on the very first ball of the innings as the ball kept low and hit Rohit’s toe end of the bat as he defended the ball.

It has been an ordinary show with the bat by the West Indians. After deciding to bat first, they failed to build strong partnerships, barring the two 65-run stands between Johnson Charles-Marlon Samuels and then Darren Bravo and Lendl Simmons. For India, Suresh Raina was the surprise package with 3-34 off his 10 overs. Stay tuned for India’s chase that will begin in sometime.

WI 211/10 | Overs 48.5 | J Holder 16* OUT! R Rampaul 1(14)

It’s all over. The West Indies are bowled out for 211. Shikhar Dhawan takes a fine catch near the deep midwicket boundary to dismiss Ravi Rampaul off R Ashwin.

WI 211/9 | Overs 48 | J Holder 16*, R Rampaul 1*

Mohammed Shami was brought back into the attack. There was hardly any width on offer for the tailenders to free their arms. Both the batsmen risk a single. Only three runs are scored off the over.

WI 208/9 | Overs 47 | J Holder 15*, R Rampaul 0*

Ravindra Jadeja came out to bowl his final over and managed to beat Ravi Rampaul’s bat a couple of times. Only one run was scored off the over.

WI 207/9 | Overs 46 | J Holder 14*, R Rampaul 0* OUT! S Narine 0 (6)

Looking to play the ball behind square, Narine closed the face of the blade a little early and ended up giving a leading edge catch back to the bowler. Only two runs were scored off the over.

WI 205/8 | Overs 45 | J Holder 13*, S Narine 0* OUT! D Sammy 5 (16)

In a bid to up the scoring rate, Darren Sammy Perished as he played against the turn to Ravindra Jadeja and holed out to Bhuvneshwar Kumar to long-off. Ravindra Jadeja picks up his 49th wicket of the year.

WI 204/7 | Overs 44 | J Holder 12*, D Sammy 5*

Jason Holder continues to impress with his batting. He goes over the top on off to send Jaydev Unadkat’s ball towards cover boundary.

WI 199/7 | Overs 43 | J Holder 8*, D Sammy 4*

Jason Holder is playing some perfect cover drives, but is unable to find gaps. Dhoni continues with two slips in place. Yet, the West Indian players are failing to find runs. Only two runs are scored off the over.

WI 197/7 | Overs 42 | J Holder 7*, D Sammy 3*

Jaydev Unadkat is brought back into the attack. After a good start, he strays in the line as Jason Holder worked the ball away towards fine leg. Five runs are scored off the over.

WI 192/7 | Overs 41 | J Holder 2*, D Sammy 3*

Ravindra Jadeja continues to fox Jason Holder as he fails to read the trun. Just two easy singles are scored off the over.

WI 190/7 | Overs 40 | J Holder 1*, D Sammy 2*

Mohammed Shami maintains a good line and length and gives away just one run. He keeps the ball in the line of the stumps as both the batsmen defends the deliveries.

WI 189/7 | Overs 39 | J Holder 1*, D Sammy 1* OUT! DM Bravo 24 (28)

Ravindra Jadeja beats Darren Bravo in flight and wicketkeeper MS Dhoni whips the bails in a flash. West Indies’ tail is exposed with the last recognised batsman back in the pavilion

WI 183/6 | Overs 38 | DJ Bravo 20*, D Sammy 0* OUT! DM Bravo 59 (77)

Mohammed Shami  strayed on the pads of Dwayne Bravo in the second delivery which was sent for a boundary. However, he returned well to Darren Bravo’s stumps as the ball kept low.

WI 177/5 | Overs 37 | DJ Bravo 15*, DM Bravo 58*

Ravichandran Ashwin comes round the wicket. Despite five dot deliveries, one poor delivery is set beyond the boundary for a six by Dwayne Bravo.

WI 171/5 | Overs 36  | DJ Bravo 9*, DM Bravo 58*

Dwayne Bravo swings the bat for a six to spoil an otherwise tidy over by Ravindra Jadeja. Eight runs are scored off the over.

WI 163/5 | Overs 35  | DJ Bravo 8*, DM Bravo 51*

Rohit Sharma gives away only two runs off his second over. The West Indies will now be looking for some quick runs as the batting powerplay has been taken.

WI 161/5 | Overs 34  | DJ Bravo 7*, DM Bravo 50*

Darren Bravo has brought up a fluent half century — his 13th in One-Day International cricket. Bravo achieved the feat off 69 balls, studded with four boundaries and a six. Six runs scored off Raina’s final over of the game, who finishes with the figures of 10-1-34-3.

WI 153/5 | Overs 32 | DJ Bravo 1*, DM Bravo 48* OUT! Deonarine 4(14)

Third wicket for Suresh Raina! Narsingh Deonarine plays a poor shot — gets on the knees and tries to clobber Raina over leg side, but missed the ball completely and is bowled after a brief stay at the crease. Captain Dwayne Bravo walks in.

WI 151/4 | Overs 31 | Deonarine 4*, DM Bravo 47*

Ravichandran Ashwin has not taken a wicket so far but he has been more than effective with the turn and bounce that he has extracted on the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium pitch.

WI 148/4 | Overs 30 | Deonarine 3*, DM Bravo 45*

West Indies batsmen take four singles off Suresh Raina, who has been very impressive with the ball today.

WI 144/4 | Overs 29 | Deonarine 1*, DM Bravo 43*

Ravichandran Ashwin continues to trouble the West Indies batsmen with turn and bounce. India seem to be pulling things back with the key wicket of Lendl Simmons.

WI 142/4 | Overs 28 | Deonarine 0*, DM Bravo 42*  OUT! Simmons 29(40)

Unlucky for Lendl Simmons. Raina’s delivery hits Simmons into the pads and after some contemplation the umpire raised his finger. However, it wasn’t a convincing decision as the ball seemed to be going down the leg side. Narsingh Deonarine is the new man in.

WI 142/3 | Overs 27 | Simmons 29*, DM Bravo 42*

Lendl Simmons clobbers a six over the deep square leg boundary off R Ashwin and Darren Bravo ends the over with a boundary as the West Indies add 11 runs from it. The fourth-wicket stand between Bravo and Simmons is of 65 runs now.

WI 131/3 | Overs 26 | Simmons 22*, DM Bravo 38*

Suresh Raina comes back into the attack and gives away only three runs. Indian spinners have done a decent job for their side, not allowing the West Indies batsmen to play aggressively and score too many runs off them.

WI 128/3 | Overs 25 | Simmons 20*, DM Bravo 37*

Ravichandran Ashwin is extracting some sharp turn on this track. Bravo and Simmons both bat cautiously but it is the former who is troubled the most with one mis-timed hit and an inside edge.

WI 126/3 | Overs 24 | Simmons 19*, DM Bravo 36*

Darren Bravo starts off with a boundary in the cover region off Shami as West Indies batsmen collect eight runs from the 24th over of the game. Bravo and Simmons are batting cautiously with picking boundaries on lose balls and rotating the strike comfortably.

WI 111/3 | Overs 22 | Simmons 12*, DM Bravo 29*

Mohammed Shami returns into the attack to bowl his second over of the game. Shami unsuccessfully appeals for a leg-before on the first ball of the game. Only two runs scored from that over.

WI 109/3 | Overs 21 | Simmons 11*, DM Bravo 28*

Ravichandran Ashwin keeps it tight, allowing only three runs off his second over. Darren Bravo and Lendl Simmons have steadied the West Indies with their cautious unbeaten stand for the fourth wicket.

WI 106/3 | Overs 20 | Simmons 10*, DM Bravo 27*

100 up for the Windies. Darren Bravo gets a thick edge off Suresh Raina as the ball races for a boundary in the third-man region. A good over for the tourists as they add eight runs off it.

WI 98/3 | Overs 19 | Simmons 8*, DM Bravo 21*

Yuvraj Singh gets into the act, saving couple of runs at the boundary. Bravo smashes one towards the cover and the senior India cricketer dives to save a couple of runs for his side. Yuvaj replicates the same good effort on the last ball of the over off R Ashwin as West Indies batsmen are prevented to get fours.

WI 92/3 | Overs 18 | Simmons 6*, DM Bravo 18*

Suresh Raina continues after drinks as the West Indies add one more run to their total. Raina keeps it tight as he bowls into the pads from around the wicket and doesn’t allow the Caribbean batsmen to go for runs.

WI 91/3 | Overs 17 | Simmons 5*, DM Bravo 18*

Jadeja continues to keep it tight at the other end as the Caribbean batsmen scramble for four runs in his fourth over of the game. The West Indies have maintained a healthy run rate but the quick wickets in last couple of overs have hurt them bad. It’s now up to Bravo and Simmons to provide a solid stand in the middle.

Time for drinks.

WI 87/3 | Overs 16 | Simmons 4*, DM Bravo 15*

Raina bowls a faster delivery which is directed towards the third-man area by Darren Bravo. The West Indies batsmen add a further six runs in that over.

WI 81/3 | Overs 15 | Simmons 3*, DM Bravo 11*

Jadeja appeals for a caught behind on the final ball of the 15th over of the game against Darren Bravo, but the umpire says not out. Only one run scored off that over as the tourists will now be looking for a stable partnership in the middle after quick wickets.

WI 80/3 | Overs 14 | Simmons 2*, DM Bravo 11* OUT! Samuels 24(35)

Unfortunate for Marlon Samuels. The ball keeps low and Samuels fails to connect and is bowled in the 14th over of the game. Samuels could do nothing on such a delivery that hardly bounced, and crashed into the base of his middle-stump. Nevertheless, India celebrate another breakthrough.

WI 77/2 | Overs 13 | Samuels 24*, DM Bravo 10*

Darren Bravo gets into the groove with a fine hit over the mid-off fielder for a six off Jadeja. The West Indies add eight runs from that over.

WI 69/2 | Overs 12 | Samuels 22*, DM Bravo 3*

Suresh Raina is introduced in the attack in the 12th over of the match. The West Indies batsmen would now be cautious as spin has been deployed from both ends and they have lost one wicket in the last over. Two runs added in the over.

WI 67/2 | Overs 11 | Samuels 22*, DM Bravo 2* OUT! Charles 42(34)

Absolute stunner! Ravindra Jadeja comes into the attack and takes a superb return catch to send back the dangerous Johnson Charles for 42. Charles tries to take a run on the on side but the ball takes a leading edge and flies towards the bowler. Jadeja dives to his left and grabs the ball.

WI 63/1 | Overs 10 | Samuels 21*, Charles 41*

Change of ends for Bhuvneshwar but the move doesn’t have any effect on the West Indies batsmen. Samuels collects two boundaries as the Caribbean side reaches 63 for one after 10 overs.

WI 55/1 | Overs 9 | Samuels 13*, Charles 41*

MS Dhoni replaces Bhuvneshwar with Mohammed Shami, who had a terrific run in the Test series against the West Indies. Samuels welcomes Shami with a boundary in the cover area, as West Indies cross the 50-run mark in the 9th over of the game.

WI 47/1 | Overs 8 | Samuels 12*, Charles 34*

Unadkat has been wayward today and continues to pay the price for it. The left-arm seamer bowls one very wide to Charles, who smashes over the point region for a boundary. Another six runs added to West Indies’ total.

WI 41/1 | Overs 7 | Samuels 11*, Charles 29*

Charles takes the attack to the opposition with three consecutive boundaries off Bhuvneshwar. The tourist’s have recovered well with the early loss in form of Chris Gayle. Right-handed batsman Charles hits the third ball of the over towards midwicket, follows it up with a boundary towards point and on the penultimate ball of the over, he gets another four with a easy stroke towards the deep mid-wicket area.

WI 28/1 | Overs 6 | Samuels 10*, Charles 17*

Charles cracks a boundary off the first ball off Unadkat and two singles makes it six from the over.

WI 22/1 | Overs 5 | Samuels 9*, Charles 12*

West Indies’ batsmen scramble for two runs off Bhuvneshwar’s third over of the match. A wide down the leg side makes it three from the over.

WI 19/1 | Overs 4 | Samuels 8*, Charles 11*

Marlon Samuels shrugs off the slow start with a stunning hit over the covers for a six off Unadkat on the second ball of the over. Charles joins in too, hitting over the mid-on fielder for the maximum result as the West Indies seem to be picking up. 13 runs scored off that over.

WI 6/1 | Overs 3 | Samuels 1*, Charles 5*

Bhuvneshwar bowls his second over of the game as the Caribbean batsmen manage only one run off it. It’s been a impressive start by the home side.

The pitch is troubling the West Indies’ batsmen with uneven bounce.

WI 5/1 | Overs 2 | Samuels 0*, Charles 5*

Johnson Charles cracks a boundary with a straight drive in the mid-off region off Jaydev Unadkat as West Indies look to recover from the early blow.

WI 1/1 | Overs 1 | Samuels 0*, Charles 1*   OUT! Gayle 0(2)

Chris Gayle is run out on the second ball! Gayle pushes the ball and goes for a risky run. Bhuvneshwar Kumar grabs it and a direct hit on the non-striker’s end sends back the dangerous Gayle back to the pavilion. The burly West Indies’ opener was in pain as he skidded on the ground and was carried away on a stretcher. Only one run scored off Bhuvneshwar’s first over.
