Shikhar Dhawan was all praise for Ajinkya Rahane, as he said he admired the opener and enjoyed opening the batting with him in the absence of Rohit Sharma.

According to a report in the Indian Express, he said, “I love opening with both Rohit [Sharma] and Ajinkya. He [Rahane] is often the aggressor and hits the ball really well. It helps me take my time to play my shots. It’s been just a few games with Ajinkya, but I am enjoying it. It’s good when runs start coming from both ends.”

Captain MS Dhoni on the other hand said, “I personally feel Ajinkya has really held through his job as an opener. He has been very consistent against both seamers and spinners.”

India will take on West Indies in the second ODI of the series at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, on Saturday.
