West Indies Women put 134 for 4 as they play hosts India Women in the second Women’s Twenty20 International (T20I). India are hosting West Indies for a series including three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20Is. India started the tour off positively as they won the ODI series 3-0. The visitors made a comeback in the T20I series winning the first T20I and this is India’s chance to bounce back in the series. The match is being played at the Gokaraju Liala Gangaaraju ACA Cricket Ground, Mulapadu. This is a must win for India to keep the series alive. Winning the toss, India Women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur elected to bowl first. Regular openers Hayley Matthews and Stafanie Taylor opened the innings for the visitors. Their game was not like the usual hard-hitting one as the two started off decently. The team lost their first wicket in the sixth over with 35 runs on the board. It was Shikha Pandey who dismissed Hayley while Harmanpreet took the catch.

They soon lost yet another wicket as Britney Cooper got out off a Deepti Sharma delivery, scoring 5 runs only. The team had 41 runs on the board for the loss of 2 wickets in 7.2 overs at that time. Stafanie held the innings from the other end as wickets kept falling in regular intervals. It was Deandra who built up a partnership with her. The duo brought in some stability to the innings and West Indies got to the team total of 50.

Deandra played her natural game, scoring runs in boundaries. She scored 35 including 5 fours. Stafanie kept on batting with Merissa Aguilleira. The two built up the next big partnership of the innings. Stafanie ended her innings remaining unbeaten at 47 while Merissa got run out off the last ball for 21 runs.

Bowling for India, Shikha Pandey remained the most successful bowler with a couple of wickets while the other successful bowler was Deepti Sharma. Jhulan Goswami again had a wicketless match.
