Live: India 157/3 vs West Indies–Ajinkya Rahane 51 (93), Rohit Sharma 41 (57): And that’s stumps on Day Four of the third Test at St Lucia. India have tunred the game in their favour due to a prodigious spell of swing and accurate bowling by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His five-for has opened the gates for an India win tomorrow. India had a lead of 128 runs when they dismissed West Indies for 225 but early wickets held them back in their second innings. However, Rohit Sharma and ajinkya Rahane have saw them through and the lead now stands at 285 runs with one whole day to go. India would like to bat for another 10-20 overs or so and get the lead to over 350 and ask WI to chase. Will WI go for it with their T20I approach to level the series before the decider or again draw the match? Will India learn from their mistakes in the last game and all out WI tomorrow? Join us tomorrow for all these answers.

Live: India 134/3 vs West Indies–Ajinkya Rahane 42 (76), Rohit Sharma 27 (44): The pair has grown in confidence, especially Rohit Sharma and have now added 62 runs for the fourth wicket. India well and truly on top of the visitors in this Test. 5 overs remaining in the day’s play as lead stands at a whopping 262.

  • 2:33 AM IST

Live: India 110/3 vs West Indies–Ajinkya Rahane 31 (61), Rohit Sharma 14 (30): The duo have added 38 runs so far for the fourth wicket. Rohit is going for his shots now, it seems while Rahane holding back. It is pretty clear as the team knows it is Rahane who can stick if wickets start falling and hence he is doing the wise thing.

  • 2:12 AM IST

Live: India 85/3 vs West Indies–Ajinkya Rahane 14 (36), Rohit Sharma 6 (12): The ‘talented’ Rohit Sharma comes to the crease. With the whole team management going gaga over this chap, it is high time he delivers in whites. He is a great player in ODIs & T20Is, but has never done anything after his twin centuries on his debut match. Ideal situation for him to play a few balls and go for the shots, like he does in shorter formats.

  • 1:53 AM IST

Live: India 72/2 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 26 (45), Ajinkya Rahane 7 (15): Both these players getting a move on now as the lead has gone past 200 for India. With 23 overs still remaining in the day, if wickets remain in hand for India and someone gets his eyes set, they can stretch the lead to 300 easily. 100 runs from 23 overs should be a realistic target for India, what say folks? The idea is definitely to bat as less as possible and give ample time to the bowlers on Day 5. They definitely remember what happened in the last Test, don’t they?

  • 1:45 AM IST

Live: India 62/2 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 24 (42), Ajinkya Rahane 0 (7): Another one bites the dust for the visitors. Kohli departs for 4. Another rare failure from the Indian captain. He has not been able to cross the single digits in this Test. An interesting moment in the Test match this is. India will still look to attack but need to be smart. They wont want too many wickets falling form one end. Lead stands at 190.

  • 1:28 AM IST

Live: India 56/1 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 19 (31), Virat Kohli 4 (9): KL Rahul has departed for a quick 28. Just when he was looking like taking the game away from the grasp of the home team, he has departed. Meanwhile, Captain Kohli has come out to bat. Why not bringing in the ‘talented’ Rohit Sharma. If he was chosen ahead of Cheteshwar Pujara, for the reason that he can change the complexion of the game in one session, this is the best time to prove that. He should bat at the same position wherein Pujara bats.

  • 1:07 AM IST

Live: India 40/0 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 13 (22), KL Rahul 23 (19): We are inot the final session of the day. A day that has completely belonged to the Indians, so far, thanks to a remarkable spell by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Will we see both the opners go hard at the opposition bowlers in sometime now? KL Rahul playing more freely as compared to his senior mate.

  • 12:43 AM IST

Live: India 31/0 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 13 (19), KL Rahul 15 (14): And That’s TEA! What an absorbing session this has been. India not only managed to bowl West Indies out for 225, but have extended their lead to 159 runs. They will look to accelerate in the final session of the day. • 12:35 AM IST

Live: India 25/0 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 13 (19), KL Rahul 9 (8): India are going along at a good pace. Both Rahul and Dhawan are putting away the bad balls and playing with caution to good deliveries. Not too long to go before tea now.

Our Chief Editor and Chief Cricket Mentor too shower praise on Bhuvi:

  • 12:24 AM IST

Live: India 8/0 vs West Indies– Shikhar Dhawan 5 (12), KL Rahul 1 (2): Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul get things underway for India once again. With just few overs to go for tea, they will look to play it safe and go all guns blazing after the tea interval. WI on the other hand desperately need a wicket or 2 before the tea break. Live: West Indies 220/8 vs India – Shane Dowrich 13 (33), Miguel Cummins 0 (19): Another chance goes begging as Rohit Sharma drops a simple catch. • 11:41 PM IST

Live: West Indies 219/8 vs India – Shane Dowrich 12 (32), Miguel Cummins 0 (8): West Indies have not been given any easy runs, but they have to get as close as possible to India’s total. Dowrich and Cummins, who got useful runs in the second Test will be entrusted to do that. Dowrich had a lucky break after Rahul failed to take a sitter in the slip region.

  • 11:23 PM IST

Live: West Indies 212/8 vs India – Shane Dowrich 5 (14), Miguel Cummins 0 (2): Bhuvneshwar has been on fire. He has trapped Jason Holder for 2 to pick up his third wicket of the innings. Holder may consider himself a tad unlucky, but the ball was clipping the bails, which is good enough. Debutant Alzarri Joseph is the new batsman and he is dismissed for a duck, by Bhuvi, who has 4 wickets now. OUT! Jason Holder LBW b Bhuvneshwar 2 (11), Alzarri Joseph c Rahul b Bhuvneshwar 0 (5)

  • 11:03 PM IST

Live: West Indies 205/6 vs India – Shane Dowrich 0 (1), Jason Holder 0 (1): Another one for Bhuvi. This time an inswinger from Bhuvi surprises Samuels and his wickets are uprooted. India make an excellent start to the second session. Chase then fishes at a ball outside off and is pouched by Rahane at first slip off Jadeja. OUT! Marlon Samuels b Bhuvneshwar 48 (109), Roston Chase c Rahane b Jadeja 2 (12)

  • 10:51 PM IST

  • 9:19 PM IST

Live: West Indies 182/3 vs India – Marlon Samuels 35 (63), Jermaine Blackwood 16 (50): West Indies have looked to attack, but the Indians have bowled well to cut the run flow. The spinners have bowled well in tandem and it has been difficult for WI batsmen to score off them.

  • 9:03 PM IST

Live: West Indies 164/3 vs India – Marlon Samuels 22 (45), Jermaine Blackwood 11 (32): A couple of close shouts from the Indians, but the WI batsmen have survived. Was that a no-ball from Ishant to get rid of Bravo? This explains it perfectly 😛

Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s live cricket blog and live cricket updates’ post of the fourth day’s play between India and West Indies, in the third Test, at the Darren Sammy International Stadium. Unfortunately, the third day’s play was washed out due to heavy rains. India is, yet again, in a similar situation they were in the second Test, with one day less to bundle out the West Indies. However, with two more days to go, India still have a chance to run through West Indies’ top order, bat in the second innings, set a target and defend it on the last day. Full Cricket Scorecard: India vs West Indies, 3rd Test match

But, for that to happen, the visitors will have to perform out of their skins. Not that they haven’t bundled out West Indies for a paltry score earlier, but the hosts’ batting since the last Test has significantly made a progress. With the outfield being wet, the ball will ferociously move around, making it difficult for the batsmen to find their feet. India, however, have Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma at their disposal. While Shami revived his Test career by taking a stunning four-for in the first match, Ishant has been right on the money. Also read: The Wriddhiman Saha approach to short balls

On the other hand, inclusion of Bhuvneshwar in place of Umesh Yadav will help India put the opposition on the back foot, given the nature of the track.

At the end of Day 2, West Indies were 107 for 1, trailing by 46 runs. All in all, Virat Kohli would be hoping the rain doesn’t ruin Day 4’s play as well.

West Indies: Kraigg Brathwaite, Leon Johnson, Darren Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Jermaine Blackwood, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich (wk), Jason Holder (c), Miguel Cummins, Shannon Gabriel, Alzarri Joseph
India: Lokesh Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma
