Sanju Samson made his first international appearance in the second and final Twenty20 International (T20I) between India and Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Sunday. Samson received his cap from Murali Vijay at the start of the innings. Zimbabwe won the toss for the first time in the series, and elected to bat first. Samson, who usually plays as wicketkeeper batsman, was not given the gloves however, the responsibility of which is being taken care of by Robin Uthappa. India will look to maintain a clean record in their tour of Zimbabwe so far with a victory in the second T20I, having won the first match by 54 runs and whitewashing the One-Day International (ODI) series 3-0 before that. LIVE SCORECARD: India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd T20I at Harare

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat. The hosts made two changes to their side. Regular skipper Elton Chigumbura missed out on the final T20I due to injury, with Sikandar Raza taking up his responsibilities in his stead. Sean Williams passed his fitness test, and filled in the void for him. The other change was that of Neville Madviza, who was replaced by Malcolm Waller. India, on the other hand, have decided to rest veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, and give Samson his debut. LIVE UPDATES: India vs Zimbabwe, 2nd T20I at Harare

India finished on a strong score of 178 for five after their quota of 20 overs in the first T20I, with Uthappa top-scoring for India by scoring 39. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, were off to a decent start with a 55-run opening stand. They however collapsed once the Indian spin duo of Harbhajan (2 for 29) and Akshar Patel (3 for 17) were introduced into the attack.
