Pandey has dropped Dhoni. He was placed at long-on exactly for that shot. Dhoni charged Shakib and tried to clear the Pandey, and the ball came inside his palm and pops out. Rayudu then steps out and hits a six and a four to take the pressure off CSK.

Sandeep strikes, that’s the end of the God of IPL! One wonders whether there was a need for this. Raina tries to clear mid-wicket but the ball takes the outside of the bat and goes to mid-off. Good catch, BTW.

Williamson – “We were also going to bowl first. The surface don’t tend to change in day games as the dew factor doesn’t come into play. It’s important to assess conditions and post a good score. It was nice to chase down the total last game. Shikhar is batting beautifully. It’s important for us to play with freedom. We want to stick to our plans and post a good score. Yusuf’s soar so Hooda comes in for him.”
  • 3:37 PM IST
Dhoni – “We will bowl first. I think all depends on how well your doing the job on that particular day. Other than that I don’t think it really matters a lot. There have been some venues where people like to chase. If we bat first and put runs on the board there’s no point of always chasing. It’s important to keep winning games and keep adding those points. The last game wasn’t good. We play 14 games in the tournament so we’ll have a few bad ones. The wicket will not change in the course of the game, but it doesn’t matter.”

Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Updates: Hello and welcome to CricketCountry’s coverage of the VIVO IPL 2018. We head to Match 46 where Super Kings host Sunrisers at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. SRH have already qualified for the playoffs. On the other hand, CSK are a win away from a place in the playoffs as well. CSK head into the tie with a 8-6 win:loss ratio against SRH.

Batsmen have the major reason behind CSK’s success as they have been in top form, however death-over bowling remains a concern. Most of the batsmen — Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, M.S. Dhoni and Suresh Raina — have contributed whenever the team required them to.

SRH have shown they are capable of putting huge totals as well as defending low scores. Hyderabad’s bowling unit led by spin twins — Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan — have been instrumental till now. Indian recruits in Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul have been critical to their success as well.
