The match 42 of Vivo Indian Premier League 2018  will see Delhi Daredevils (DD) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their own backyard at Feroz Shah Kotla. DD, with minor chance of advancing to the playoffs, will give their full effort as they play all their remaining clashes at home. However, their record against SRH is not very impressive, having won just 4 out of their 11 clashes.

DD last faced SRH where they lost the game in the final over defending 164. Batting first, Prithvi Shaw gave DD a good start smashing 65 off 36, he was accompanied well by Shreyas Iyer (44). Vijay Shankar played a good cameo in the end hitting 23 off 13. However they failed to post a good title. Alex Hales and Shikhar Dhawan gave SRH a good start and Kane Williamson along with Yusuf Pathan finished the game for them.

The big positive for DD is the form of their young players like Shaw, Iyer and Rishabh Pant. Shankar is also contributing the team with some quick runs in the end overs. The concern for them is the form of Glenn Maxwell. The other drawback for them is the lack of wicket taking ability by other bowlers. Only Trent Boult has done well with 13 wickets, the next in the list is Amit Mishra with 6 wickets. The other bowlers have not taken enough responsibilities.

SRH, on the other side, heavily relied on their bowling side. They have made a habit this season of defending low scoring matches. In their last encounter against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), SRH only managed to score 146 before getting bowled out. RCB, who have the strongest batting line up also failed to chase it down as they lost by 5 runs. The bad form of other batsmen is other concern for them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad likely XI

Shikhar Dhawan, Alex Hales, Kane Williamson (c), Deepak Hooda/Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma

Delhi Daredevils likely XI

Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Vijay Shankar, Liam Plunkett, Amit Mishra, Shahbaz Nadeem, Avesh Khan, Trent Boult

The plan for DD will be simple, that is to get the early wicket of Kane Williamson and play Rashid Khan well. DD even have the home advantage and got nothing to lose. However, SRH with their current form stand as favourites. Shikhar Dhawan who has been out of touch since return from the the injury and will look forward to be among runs.
