The much anticipated Tendulkar vs Ganguly tie ended in a victory for Saurav Ganguly’s Atletico de Kolkata, who defeated Kerala Blasters FC 1-0 in the final to lift the inaugural Indian Super League (ISL) football trophy at the D.Y Patil stadium in Mumbai  on December 20 . A last gasp goal from forward Mohammed Rafique helped the Sourav Ganguly part-owned franchise clinch the inaugural edition of the tournament. Rafique had come on for Mohammad Rafi late in the game and scored the winner in the 95th minute to seal the game for Kolkata.

Kerala Blasters played extremely well and they were left dejected after the late winner. Saurav Ganguly was seen overjoyed after the victory, whereas owner of Kerala Blasters Sachin Tendulkar Tendulkar was seen consoling his players after the loss. Extra-time seemed on the cards but David James, who was rock steady throughout the game was finally beaten with a superbly placed header. Ganguly was quick to thank his fans for the support after the game.

So, it finishes 1-0 to Atletico de Kolkata and they are the champions of ISL.
