India’s opening duo KL Rahul and Karun Nair are off to steady yet comfortable start with 42-runs stand so far. Nair could have been out for 15 but was saved, thanks to a no ball. Same was for Rahul as he was dropped as well, that proved to be a point for India. India are playing at 48 for no loss after 13 overs with the lunch break going on at the moment. Zimbabwe had put up a target of 126 for 9, as Sean Williams was injured during warm-up match, leaving Zimbabwe to just 10 side team. India were off the mark right away with their pace duo picking two and one wicket apiece of Hamilton Masakadza, Chamu Chibhabha and Peter Moor. After the 10th over, Vusi Sibanda got hold of the opportunity and scored his 21st ODI fifty while also achieved 50-runs stand with his partner Sikander Raza. It was Yuzvendra Chahal who broke the partnership that was building within the 26th over with first getting Raza for 16 and immediately grabbing Elton Chigumbura. Soon after, Chahal also got hold of Sibanda as well dismissing him off for 53. Zimbabwe faced a downfall after his wicket leaving Zimbabwe bundled out for 126. MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first. India did not make any changes to their side while Zimababwe made a single change with Craig Evrine kept out and Sean Williams making an entry.

Dhoni is one step away from registering his first series win after October 2014. In the first game of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe at Harare, the India thrashed the hosts by 9 wickets, thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s match-winning four-for and KL Rahul’s stunning unbeaten debut century. It was also Ambati Rayudu’s knock of 62 that helped India to win their first ODI match.
