In came Anamul Haque and immediately started to play counter-attacking cricket. Gleeson was once again at the receiving end as he was struck for four boundaries of his second over, which included three back-to-back fours. Arafat Sunny and Liam Dawson then bowled a few quiet overs. But Anamul might consider himself unlucky after he was run out at the non-striker s end by the bowler Dawson for a breezy 16-ball-25. Skipper Naeem Islam the decided to bring in the experienced Shahid Afridi into the attack. The Vikings were scoring at a good rate, but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. That is where the experience of Shoaib Malik came into play.He was unfazed with the fall of wickets at the other end and carried on in his own merry way. Soon, Vikings were reduced to 82 for 5 in the 12th over, when Zakir Hasan joined Malik at the crease.

Rangers had pulled things back. Not only did they pick up wickets at regular intervals, but they also managed to keep the runs down. Amidst all this Malik was run out for 30 off 32, leaving his team in further trouble. Vikings had lost six wickets with over six over remaining. At the strategic time-out, after 16 overs, Vikings were 102 for 6. Zakir and Nazmul Hossain were batting. Zakir was dismissed after he scooped Afridi straight into the hands of the man at short third man.

It was Rangpur Riders, who had won the toss and elected to bowl first. This is their first match of the tournament, while Vikings have already won their only match of the tournament.
