Comilla Victorians have managed to restrict Khulna Titans to 144 for 9 in Match 11 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2016 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium at Dhaka, courtesy of an inspired spell from their skipper Mashrafe Mortaza. Khulna Titans got off to an excellent start as openers Andre Fletcher and Hasanuzzaman started taking on the Comilla Victorians right from the first over. Fletcher hit Mortaza for a four and a six off the third and fourth delivery of the match to start things off on a good note. The duo were scoring boundaries at regular intervals. However, the Victorians drew first blood as Fletcher miscued pull short found Imrul Kayes at mid-wicket to give Mortaza his first wicket of the evening. Shuvagata Hom then joined Hasanuzzaman. But Hom was dismissed for 17 after skipper Mortaza brought himself on for his second spell. Mortaza struck off the very first ball of his second spell and gave away just one run from that over. Titans were still in a good position at 92 for 2 with 65 balls still remaining. Skipper Mahmudullah walked in at No. 4. Mortaza was at it again as he removed Hasanuzzaman, caught behind for a 30-ball 37. The Victorians kept chipping away with the wickets as Nazmul Hossain got rid of the big fish Mahmudullah. They were right back in this game. From 92 for 1 after 10 overs, they managed to add just 23 more runs in the next five overs and had lost three more wickets along the way.

Earlier, Comilla Victorians had won the toss and elected to bowl first. Going into this match, Khulna Titans had four points from three matches, with a couple of wins to their credit. Defending champions Comilla Victorians on the other hand, have lost both their matches in the tournament so far.
